Want to shift from a WordPress to my own pages - Front-End covered, recommendations for back-end?

So just some context: I write a blog very simple and mainly just about the things that I learn or about topics that I am heated about. However as an IT guy, I feel a little embarrassed that I'm using a wordpress template instead of hosting my own pages on the hosting site. I possess a relatively alright knowledge of front-end HTML/CSS/Javascript, but I don't mind using templates and bootstrap anyways.

But I'm not exactly how to work with the integration of backend. I'm familiar with SQL and I've taken a few courses behind it, so I do understand the general relationship database schema and mechanics. But I'm just unfamiliar with the integration in between, which is what I guess called, "full stack"?

Any recommendations for a language that would be good for content management and blogging? I've read through the FAQ, so I'm trying to choose between C#/Python/Ruby On Rails.

My inhibition with C# is that it is within the Microsoft domain so I'm not sure how flexible it is, but on the other hand, I've heard so much about what it can do, plus it can be used between web apps as well as Desktop programming.

I've heard alot about Python so that's why I'm considering it.

I "matured" during the mid 2000's during the entire Ruby on Rails boom, so I guess that's why I'm just naturally attached to it. For being around for so long, and remains one of the most popular languages says a lot about it.

Thoughts? Opinions?

I'm not looking to develop new web apps and services (for now), but really just about working with my own content for a blog. But since I don't wanna do another post, what language is typically preferred when creating web apps? Like portal sites etc?
