How do Summer online courses work?

Hi Terps, I'm thinking about taking an online GenEd this summer, but I'm not sure exactly how it works. I'll be working a 9-5 internship over the summer as well. Do I need to be online at a certain time every day for these summer classes, or can I go on anytime as long as I get my work done? Thanks!
