My sisters actions have made me horrified of women falsely accusing people of sexual assault.
I want to start this out by saying my sister isn't a bad person, I think it's society that has made people assume the worst in other people.
Long story short. Last week I went out to a long time friends house warming party and brought my sister since she knew the couple and wanted to see their house. We're drinking heavily, eating snacks, enjoying the house. Around 11:30 the couple is tired and the party is winding down. Someone suggests we go to a local bar, tons of people we went to high school with go there and a friend of a friend is bar tending. I'm not interested but my sister asks me to go since she doesn't want to go home just yet. Fine.
The two hours that follow are the most embarresed I have ever been in the company of my friends. My sister was absolutely black out drunk. Every attempt I make to get her to stop is met with yelling, eventually I decide to just let her keep going and let the hangover punish her. She's falling over, spilling drinks, talking shit to the bartenders (one Brian the friend of a friend, and another Phil who I graduated highschool with) eventually I drag her out of the bar, after Brian cuts her off, despite her protests and drive her home.... also she puked in my car.
The next morning my sister is on her death bed due to the hang over. She can't even walk without getting nauseous. She shows up to our family dinner at my aunts house, vomit still in her hair. After about an hour of my family feeding her hangover cures she says sheepishly "I think I was drugged." Then looked at me "I think Brian drugged me." to which one of my aunts says "Oh honey that's possible you never know! that happened to a friend of mine."
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO she got shit faced not drugged. She says the last thing she remembers is Brian making her a drink to which I say "Yeah your 5th drink of the hour."
"But I don't remember being that drunk."
"Yeah because you blacked out."
"I really think I might have been drugged! I normally can drink more than that and I've blacked out before but it wasn't like that last night"
"So you expect me to believe that Brian, a person I'm not close with but never the less have known for 7+ years, drugged you while I was sitting next to you and talking to him and his best friend was sitting next to me. You find that more likely than the fact that maybe, just maybe you drank to much to and blacked out?"
"Stazerz it happens!" says my aunt "you have to take these things seriously! Especially when its your OWN sister!"
These things are serious, very very serious, which is why it is so frightening to me that a persons default response to having bad night is "I got drugged" If I hadn't been there too speak on behalf of Brian I can't imagine what could have happened. My sister wasn't trying to be malicious, she wasn't to hurt anyone, she was scared because she didn't know what happened to her that night. It frightens me that even a person I know is normally so level headed can so quickly believe the worst in people and how quickly it is believed by others.
TL:DR- My sister blacked out because she drank way to much at a bar and claims the bartender might have drugged her despite the fact I there the entire time.
