Do any sympathetic male characters show up in Bitch Planet?

I just picked up vol. 1 of Bitch Planet from the library, I keep on giving Deconnick's books a try because they are always almost good though none have completely grabbed me yet. Bitch Planet has been the best yet, but it is kinda driving me nuts that there are absolutely no sympathetic male characters. I get the feeling that maybe Mack is going to fill that role but I'm not certain of that. Can anyone who is up to date on the series fill me in, I dont think I will keep reading it if it is 100% man hating.
