Buddy for Southern Utah backpacking trip July 23-Aug 6 2016 - Zion/GSEscalante/Bryce Canyon/Arches NP and Monument Valley
Hey,
I (26M) have finally decided to visit Southern Utah during my shutdown vacation and looking for a buddy with similar itinerary. I am a fit backpacker, explorer in the heart, scout over 9 years, lots of hiking done in the Adirondacks (NY) and in Quebec (Canada), but first time in Utah.
The itinerary looks like the following:
Zion NP: (1) Narrows, (2) Angels Landing & Observation Point and (3) Subway
Grand Staircase Escalante: (1) Golden Cathedral, (2) Calf Creek Falls, (3) Coyote Gulch, (4) Grosvenors Arch, (5) Peek-a-boo and Spooky Slots
Bryce Canyon National Park: (1) Queens Garden Loop (Navajo)
Arches National Park: (1) Devils Garden and visit pretty much most of the other arches on Arches Scenic Drive
A scenic drive through Castle Valley to Monument Valley to see: Big Indian, Sentinel Mesa, Stagecoach, Brigham Tomb, Eagle Mesa etc.
Now question, is this possible in 14-15days? I've done some fair share of researching for permits and flash floods risks. Are venomous snakes also a risk down there? All comments and suggestions are welcomed!
