First big boy purchase. Need advise/recommendation

So I'm graduating and am going to start making real money, I've set my budget around 15k. All wheel drive is a priority as I'm in the snow for much of the year, otherwise it will be a commuting car. I just want something reliable and comfortable, fuel efficiency would be nice as well. I've been looking at some used foresters and audi A4. I hear good things about Subaru's AWD. Any advise is appreciated.
