IPhone vs android, picking next phone

I'm generally not an apple guy, but when the 5s came out a couple of years ago, I got it. I didn't like it at first and it's still kind of meh, but I do like the look and just the general cleanliness of the OS, in addition to the voice mail. In addition my wife just bought me a macbook and I like the fact my phone is connected to the laptop. I like the idea of android more than anything, I like the customisation, i like the freedom and I also do android development. My question is, should I wait until the 7 or 7s comes out and get that or should I just pick up the next Nexus? What do the people who switched from iPhone miss?
