Discovering Space 2 works great on 1.3

Purchased on theriftarcade.com, ran on a DK2 with 1.3.

Well done! Very immersive simulation/learning tool. I have been a fan since the early DK2 demo and it looks like the devs have been hard at work since then. You basically get to pilot your ship around space and check out nicely rendered planets, moons, asteroids, etc. I haven't exited the solar system yet in this version but I am looking forward to what deep space objects and other sights there are to see. I appreciate the blue shift during light speed travel and the atmospheric transitions/reentry effects. There is an onboard guide that identifies planetary features and points of interest on planets and objects that is very helpful. I believe it was even playing Apollo recordings when I approached the moon surface.

The controls take just a few minutes to master and it is a welcome change to the complexity of ED and other simulators if you want to relax and just "explore space" or astonish a newbie to VR. It runs smoothly on a DK2 with a 970 and has an oversampling setting to make it look pretty darn good. I can't wait to experience it on a CV1 or Vive. Well worth the money if you are any kind of space fan or Sci-Fi fan or just VR fan. These are the apps that keep me excited about the future of VR!
