Advice needed for edge-to-edge bite treatment
Hello!
I a a 20 year old who recently went to a new dentist. All was well except for a few cavities, and the dentist brought up that I have an edge-to-edge bite and may want to consider seeing an orthodontist for braces.
I was surprised, mainly because my old dentist who I have been seeing since I was like 5 never brought up braces at all. Then again, he also did some other stuff like not address my fears about a hole in my tooth that eventually turned into a big cavity. (Which I am getting filled next month.)
I have kind of a phobia of wire braces, and also I am extremely poor. My smile is not perfect, but I don't care so much. If it's really medically necessary for teeth health, then I will see an orthodontist, but I really do not have the money to spare unless it's really needed.
I'm just wondering about the impact of an edge-to-edge bite if left untreated, and am seeking unbiased advice, as well as possible treatment options?
Thank you so much for your time.
