How is this games horror in comparison to bloodborne?

So I've always enjoyed games that can really challenge me which is why I got bloodborne when it came out, great game except for all the depressing shit in that game. For my own personal reasons I really dislike all the shit having to do with people losing their minds and the whole people turning into beasts and the diseases i'm just not into it. So does DS3 go back to more medieval themes or does it share bloodbornes horror factor? And please no "just man up and play it" "git gud" responses, trust me I get it you disagree and that's fine I just want a straight answer.
