Acoustic treatment on my room... even worth the effort?
Every now and again, I have little panic moments about whether/how to acoustically treat my room.
Here is a few photos of my current setup and this is a floor plan I quickly knocked up.
When I clap my hands, I can kind of hear a ringing reverb if that makes sense.
I know my speakers shouldn't be so close to the wall. I know I shouldn't have my shelf right beside the right monitor. I've tried to mitigate this by having the woofer/tweeter positioned in front of the shelf. I thought about swapping my half sized IKEA shelf out for where the tall one stands, but I tried that today and honestly couldn't tell if I was just imagining the difference.
If I remember rightly, one article said to start with bass traps. I do notice a big difference in bass at either corner behind my desk.
Anyway, for those of you here who are good at treating rooms, what would you suggest as the best steps? This room is, after all, still my bedroom, so I don't want it to be dominated by acoustic foam floor to ceiling, but if there are some obvious measures I would be really appreciative to hear them.
Thanks!!
