First BBS shave this morning

It's been great. After 3 shaves I've started to get the knack of de shaving. I felt good this morning with my shave and even went against the grain and was BBS. However, a couple of hours later ny face was hurting. It felt like I could literally feel the hairs growing back in my face. Has anyone else ever felt this way. I loved that my face was so smooth with no irritation but gd my face hurt the rest of the day until later that evening. What's up with that?
