Wu Tang Expansion 1330-1340

EXPANSION

Hong made his statements quite clear. He intended for Anking to continue moving into lands that Wu Tang has already set its eyes upon. It looks as though there's a conflict of interest...

The situation wasn't at all what Lord Bianhua really wanted. Nippon had colonized onto the Qin mainland, and Anking already holds territory that Wu Tang desires. Nevertheless, he can do no more than make do with the present situation.

Unlike Wu Tang's past tactics, Bianhua used money and influence rather than military action. The administrators/mayors/nobles of the western provinces were easy to bribe, and were quick to assume submission under the protection of Wu Tang rather than the barbaric takeover of the Anking. As fellow Shung of a broken empire, the weak independent states were anxious to find protection from dangers that may lie outside or even within their holds.

As for the southernmost province of Qin, money was the main factor involved. The newly-founded Eastern Qin Trading Association conducted many businesses around this area, and gave much wealth to the region. With a huge sum of money, the nobles of the area welcomed soldiers and colonists from Hainan. And, of course, there was the danger that the Association would pull out operations from the province if they refused, but that wasn't explicit said out loud.

All in all, Bianhua was happy with the results of his actions that required little force.
