Lv 1 max SR equip from quest

Not sure if this has been asked on here before but what exactly is the point of the SR weapon equips I have been getting as the story quest rewards? It's max lvl is one so the stats aren't good and it's mediocre for fusion fodder or selling. Am I missing something?
