[Sorry No Picture] Tiny black bird in New England, US
Hi guys, hoping for some help on this. I heard soft chirping at my feeder this afternoon so I looked out the window to see what it was. There were two birds I've never seen before on the ground picking at the seeds. They were small and sparrow shaped, almost half the size of the Mourning Dove sitting with them and very solidly black or dark brown.
I tried to get a picture with my phone but as soon as I lifted my arms up, all the birds flew off. The sun had just started to set so I didn't think they'd come back and I turned to google. But I can't find anything that looks like what I saw.
Any ideas?
Edit: Just want to also confirm they were not red wing black birds or cow birds, and definitely not crows. They were very small.
