Do MSI graphics cards work with ubuntu?

I just built my first PC, I'm playing around with Unity3D right now, and got this graphics card specifically to make object generation and rendering more seamless... It's around the same as my laptop which I'm pretty sure has no card... It lags and freezes which I was not expecting. Here is the card: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZGF0TNM/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_0kfexb9QXHJVQ

Do I need to install drivers? Can I do that on ubuntu? Do I need to get a different card if I want to use ubuntu?

Please help! Thanks!
