Helix 2 fingerprint for hard drive password

I have a helix 2 and I am trying to get the fingerprint reader to enter the hard drive password for me. This does not work like in prior thinkpads. Guides for Thinkpad t450 and other newer thinkpads reference a fingerprint setting in the bios, but this helix has no such setting. Am I SOL on this ?
