MMW: China's economy will stabilize over the coming months, starting with a report that says China's economy grew somewhere between 6.5 and 7.0% so far
And then we'll end 2016 with the usual "Is China on the verge of collapse?" fearmongering with sensationalist articles pointing out how China no longer growing at an unsustainable 10+% is proof that the country is in its death throes. And then 2017 will begin, and people will be confused as to where was the collapse. And then 2017 will end, and the idea that China is going to spectacularly fall will be all but forgotten. Maybe repeat another "slowdown crisis" sometime between then and 2020, with the same end result— nothing coming of it except a lot of speculation.
Edit: I think I called it.
China's Economy Stabilized in First Quarter
Half the articles I've seen are saying China's economy is stabilizing; the others are panicking that it's growing at 6.7%, the slowest since 2009 and .1% slower than Q4 last year and using that as proof that China's in freefall. Hmm.
