Remembrance
I met her first when
she was seventy seven.
I Met her in prime of youth,
I saw her clear Latin face
so bold and sweet from afar
when I met her first.
.
She talked sweetly
She laid calmly
She had power.
But I was impatient
and we really couldn’t bond.
.
She taught me
that flowers have perfume,
she taught me elegance,
even if not learnt then.
She had power, she showed.
And said, your Friday visit won’t be.
I took her orchids for a change, not roses
And then she was gone.
I heard, a rose was on her bed, a red one
Before she was taken away.
For the first time a rose
was laid so at the place by anyone.
She won always, she likes the winnings,
She was a winner so.
I remember her.
Her name was Victoria.
