Blasphemy
I recently posted my first poem on this subreddit. Imo it got some very good critisism. I tried adding a bit of a meter in this, since that was the "problem" about my last poem. Someone in the comments also told me that he would love for me to write a poem on the base of two lines in the poem. These lines are the first ones in this. Hope you enjoy. Again i have to apologize about any grammatical issues, since English isn't my first language.
Isn't it fantastic how the world made
something like religion into an excuse to
declare war.
As if the world wasn't sore enough from the
battles we have fought before.
Seas and shores.
All formed by tears from warwiddows and
orphans.
Young men arriving in battle, only to return
home in flagged coffins.
Lost limbs, burning red skin and shattered
bones.
Of all places.
Hell surely lies in the battle zones.
The only part I want in this, is to shout.
"What the fuck are we really arguing about!?"
"What result do you expect from this
mushroom cloud!?"
"Is your belief really more important than the
life of these kids?"
"is the differences really worth the hits?"
Soldiers of holy wars.
Tell me about your scars.
Tell me about how you killed that little boy
and saw his mother cry.
Tell me about when you got shot in the
heart.
Who held the gun, whose son?
And who flashed before your eye?
Was it god or a girlfriend?
A son or a servant of your religious battle?
Was it Jesus or Muhammed.
