[PSA] M9 Marble Fade Max Red Guide
M9 Marble Fade Max Guide
EDIT: 636 added as max, 341 demoted to 2nd as there is slight slight difference between it and the 636/897.
KNOWN MAX -
KNOWN 2ND MAX
(PS these are not the only 2nd max, there are many more out there just I haven't gone through them. Many more out there that go clean into the second tooth ps)
There are many patterns which are bordering 2nd/3rd max, as this is the point you start to see the orange creep in on the tip and this is when the indicator line drops and does not run clean into the 2nd tooth.
A point to make is, that with the orangey tip the "red tip" may appear bigger but it isn't. Its just the orange blending on the end. For max you want the pure red only tip, along with the max red at the base of the knife on both sides.
This guide is a work in progress and once the 2nd max list becomes more complete the 3rd max will follow. SEND ME METJM's! :)
I thought I would compile some info on what is a max red as I have noticed many people labelling and selling there M9's as max when they aren't.
First off the highest max red patterns currently known are the 636 and the 897. These 2 patterns are identical and are the top Max red M9 patterns.
The obvious way for you to check is to look up the pattern index, other than that you can also look for good indicators such as the tip will have full red with no orange. Also the playside of the max has a dark line that reaches up to about half way of the second tooth. All non max will not reach this high up.
Another indicator is the back side of the knife with the red reaching up to the 4th tooth
Anything other at the moment is not considered max.
The pricing of the max is set higher as they are more desirable as they are currently at the end of the scale of the fade. Such as the Karambit 412 which the max fire/ice of the Karambit MF. Its more rare and higher priced than its 2nd max cousins.
Thanks to a user here on the sub we have found a very close pattern index the 326. Which is very close but not as high as the max. The line runs to the second tooth. There are a few index which run to the second tooth and have a red tip And I think that we should class any index that runs clean into the second tooth on the indicator line a 2nd max (like this) (as long as its below the max line). We will try to form a list of definite 2nd max index as soon as they are put forward.
There are plenty that look similar to max but are not, if you don't know what your looking for you may be tricked into buying something your not really asking for.
An example of a pattern that is often sold as a max that isn't
Notice how the line does not make it into the 2nd tooth and also how the tip is orangey yellow above the red. Which indicated its not a max or close to 2nd.
If anyone has anything they would like to add please contact me. And I hope this can be useful for you guys.
Also if anyone has some clean screenshots of a 897 pattern please inbox me them, and also any other patterns which you feel are max red please forward to me to be added.
