Matte Lip Products (liquid, lipstick, pencil, etc)- April's Product Spotlight!
Welcome to one of our new monthly threads- Product Spot Light!
This month we’ll be looking at all things matte lips! Matte bullet lipsticks, as well as liquid matte lip products, pencil ones and so on.
Matte lips have really taken in the last few years with most big brands now following smaller and indie brands who offer not just run of the mill reds, pinks and nudish colours, but also purples, blues, greens and even metallic mattes.
Some brands available in the UK that have matte lip products are: Stila, MUA, MUR, Sleek, NYX, Inglot, MAC.
Matte lipsticks contain more filling agents like silica but do not have many emollients.
Some enjoy the following pros:
- block of colour
- doesn't transfer
- requires few if any touch ups
- non sticky finish
Whilst other don't enjoy these cons:
- Drying
- Flakey
- gotta be quick to work with them
- disintegrates when eating oil food

Edited to add something I just found out about: insta matte lipstick transformer by Smashbox. Anyone given this a try?
