Mystic Allies Weapon

I just started this game back up after not playing since....before Rifts were even added. I went after the pet build with the free Innas given and have loved it so far. My question however is related to gearing for this build, specifically weapons.

I got my free Innas Staff from the gift thing but it didn't roll that well I don't think

Earlier that day I got a Skorn with significantly higher DPS.

How do I evaluate Mystic Ally damage vs. weapon damage? The mystic allies scale off weapon damage from the tool tip, would it be better to use a pure DPS weapon even if I lose the 111% mystic ally damage from Innas? I don't use EP and don't really plan to which I would imagine makes weapon damage matter a lot more. The set bonus isn't a big deal because I have Ring of Royal Grandeur and all 7 pieces are basically my best. If it matters/helps this is the rest of my armory, I know it has a lot of problems. Sorry if this is a very obvious question, I don't really have any clue how to evaluate it.

Mystic ally is most of your damage - look at it like a flat damage buff.

It doubles your damage. Unless the new weapon is like 80%+ dmg upgrade it probably isn't worth it.

Okay, that's quite a simple way for me to figure it out! Thanks.

Set bonus is a big deal because you would not need to use RoRG, you could get way more damage with Focus or EW/CoE combo. There is no good alternative to inna daibo.

Drop inna glove for Tasker & Theo if you don't have any replacement for RoRG, AS boost to allies is worth it.

Puzzle ring in cube is bad idea, you don't want gob to rob you of white/blue mats. :)

Clones don't count as pets, TnT is out

Disregard that, I am incorrect

Are you sure? I heard TnT does work with the clones.

I'm sorry but what does TnT stand for?

Tasker and Theo, legendary gloves with a massive pet attack speed bonus.

I was talking about allies, not clones. Tasker works with allies.

I was incorrect about the situation as a whole, but I was talking about allies as well. Some people on reddit/bnet refer to them as clones.

I just mean that it isn't a big deal right now because I don't have any other options, Royal Grandeur is the only ring I've got which really does anything for that slot. Same with any slots actually, the only slot that Innas isn't simply miles ahead of everything else I have is the waist which is why I switched it out.

For Cube I just put whatever affixes I had access to in there. I didn't realize Puzzle Ring was bad. I'll try to find something to change to.

Just for future reference, the puzzle ring is great in the cube but not great cubed. If you get another ring, put it in the cube by itself and transmute you'll open a Portal to the vault.

I know this post was a few days ago but in those few days I managed to kind of get what I think are all the items I want, and was wondering if you could give your opinion on it. I'm cubing RoRG right now so I can use both Tasker and Crudest, although I could Cube both of those instead if there was something more interesting in those slots.

I'm not entirely sure on what to cube honestly. The guide I was using is for the Exploding Palm variation of the build that I don't want to use and I think the cubed items might be specifically for that. It recommended cubing Flying Dragon, which I did, but I really didn't notice it doing much since almost all of my damage is from pets and I don't think it works on pets? I don't know what to cube in armor at all. And I'm cubing RoRG as said above. I don't have a Unity, let alone 2, so that isn't something I've had to worry about yet.

I just got that Hellfire Amulet but don't know how good it really is, I do have access to the Compass Rose set also.

Your AS transfers to raw damage boost of allies, so when you see flying dragon proc activate the allies, increase in damage should be noticable. Daibo has low AS so FD helps a lot.

In regard to cubing, there are basically 4 items worth mixing with Inna:

Crudest boots - mandatory, you have to find room for them

Leoric crown - big cdr boost, you can activate allies, forbidden palace, epiphany, etc. more frequently, works well with something like +45% cdr

Tasker - if you have crappy Inna gloves use them, although I would not put them above Leoric crown

4th, some people prefer Spirit Guards for damage reduction, but I would not value it above any of afore mentioned items. You get DR from Lefebvre + you can interrupt plenty of attacks by CS pulling.

Regarding jewelry, it's either EW or you can mix HF with F/R, otherwise you give up a lot of damage. I play HC so in most cases I value good immunity amulet over HF, so mix it as you wish. If you don't have good F/R rings, go with EW+RoRG+CoE.

I'll try Flying Dragon again then, I didn't know how it worked with pets.

My current armor set is actually using Crudest and Tasker, I didn't know about Leoric's Crown though. It looks like I might have disenchanted the one I got so I need to find another but that seems like a really good options.

I have a good set of Focus+Restraint rings that I've been using, does HF stand for Hellfire? I don't know abbreviations that well. I got a Hellfire with Seize the Initiative as the passive but I don't really know how to rate having a 5th passive vs a better legenday prefix on my neck slot.

Yes, sorry, HF is Hellfire amulet, so if you have good F/R combo don't hesitate to use it. STI is useful, AS is beneficial to the build not just for damage but also for spirit regen. Regarding other passives...harmony is pretty much mandatory. There are some damage buff skills (their effects are shown on char sheet), like momentum, unity or determination, but I would take STI over those. You should find some room for defensive passives like sixth sense or resolve. Beacon of Ytar is important if you want to maximize your cdr. Also, Near Death Experience if you don't like to die.

Which legendary affix on neck slot are you refering to? HF can contended by well rolled Julia, Mara or Azkaranth amulets.

Oooh, you screwed up that HF by rolling secondary affix, you should have rolled damage range to crit chance. :) Roll cold damage on bracers and use frostburn in cube instead of magefist which does nothing to your build (or Leoric crown).
