Strong Like Oak
Walk through the woods, my thoughts, my guide
A gold monarch, through vision, flies
Fresh from growth it takes to wing
the freedom soars in midst of spring
By web of wolf, the journey ends
at hunger of a widow's fangs
Built up of years, in moments run dry
Idle they sit, for trees do not cry
Skin grows thick, as hearts bleed deep,
cannot betray, which forever sleeps
Break the bark, for name of a lover
and carve your path, through dreams of another
For in the sun do our wings melt
no place for wax, and wills unbent
Inflict on them, the pain you have felt
Much better we drown with those we resent
