Seven Billion Grains
Seven billion grains of sand
Each made round by
Centuries of unbound exploration,
Carried by the winds
Herded in dancing riverbeds.
The sons of mountains
Daughters of the universe
Whittled by interaction
Eaten by the titan we call time.
Each day retreating
From its rough form
Becoming new and refined
With each bump and bristle.
