I need to pass a two mile run for the Army APFT. How can I incorporate cardio into my routine.
I have already graduated basic and AIT. Been at my National Guard unit for 5 months or so now. We had a PT test today and I passed pushups and situps with no problem, but did AWFUL on my two mile run. I work out at home and Im currently on a routine similar to the Dumbell PPL Stopgap Alternative in the r/fitness wiki. Except I only work out 4 times a week due to a busy schedule. I could incorporate running into the routine but then my workouts would be pushing two hours. I also considered doing a full body workout of nothing but compound lifts twice a week and just running on my off days. But Im afraid this routine wouldn't yield as good of gains as my current PPL and I could potentially overtrain my legs. Does anyone have any ideas?
