The Overwatch: Origins Edition Situation
The problem
As you may have noticed, there's some confusion regarding the preordering of Overwatch: Origins Edition. Basically, in their store, it is clearly Overwatch: Origins Edition they are selling, but an G2A employee has said it is the standard edition they are selling.
Statement
Unfortunately, such exclusive content is only awarded for the purchases made directly from the distributor's offer. In our store it is only the standard version of the game. If on the product page is not stated that game will include such bonus, I'm afraid you will not be able to get the refund once the key will be sent to you.
Why is this a problem?
Maybe you would think that after an employee stating it's the standard edition they are selling, that's the end of it and there is no problem. That is not the case, because:
- One employee making a statement like this on a site with few visitors, and no other employeed saying anything about it, brings more confusion than clarification.
- If they were selling the standard edition, then why does it still say Origins Edition in their store, many hours after said statement?
Soo, what is the problem again?
This means that we are not 100% sure which edition we get from buying the Origins Edition in the G2A store. If it is the standard edition they are selling, under the name of Origins Edition, that is false advertising.
In the statement, the employee states that "such exclusive content is only awarded for the purchases made directly from the distributor's offer" (This of course refers to the goods in the Origins Edition). This statement in false. I have been in contact with an employee at Blizzard, and it doesn't matter where you buy it from, it's still an Origins Edition with the bonus content. This, of course, is assuming it's not fraudulent.
It is also being stated that it only says "standard version" in their store, this is also false. The Overwatch page on G2A Snapshot The Overwatch tile in the G2A store Normal [With mouse hovering over] (https://gyazo.com/43dbd1d839279d4297eee3a5e9d0a329) It may also be worth noting that G2A is reseller authorized by Blizzard.
We have no idea if the statement this employee has made is true or not. Since it's only this employee who has made such statement, it could very well be false, but we are still left with confusion and speculation. It is not alright to leave your customers in confusion.
My intention with this post was simply to bring attention to this matter, as it affects quite a lot of people, not only the customers, but also the face of G2A. I hope an employee will see this post, so we can get some clarification on this.
TL;DR
G2A missing clarification on potential false marketing. We need clarification on this matter.
EDIT
The matter has been solved. It is now clear that the overwatch being sold in the G2A store, is the Origins Edition as it is shown. Buying the game from G2A, you will get the bonus content the Origins Edition brings, though it is still too early to say if you'll receive the preorder bonus too.
