Icon issues.

Power tripped during a storm. When the pc restarted it would not recognize the monitor.

I restarted it a few times and heard the start up sound. Had to reset the mobo by removing the battery but got it working. But the network icon is missing and none of the other icons respond when I right click them. And by missing I mean even in the properties it doesn't show. I'm connected its just a blank square in the task bar where the icon is.

Any advice or thoughts?
