I can not land a single bola from ultimate

Anyone having any luck ?
I always miss mine, I mean, it goes over the champion every time.
A little bit frustrated, I wont lie.
I even tried throwing it at the very start of jump but still goes over the head.
I was able to land it few times when champion is running away from me but if he stands in place or moves towards me I miss always.
