Fourteen Restaurant and Sky Lounge opening this week downtown. Was there last night for a preview.

You might have heard the rumours about the new restaurant taking over the old Windsor Club space on the top floor of the Ouellette CIBC building on the river front. Its called "Fourteen" and is going to be open to the public starting next week (Tuesday they said.) I was there last night for the Friends and Family open house as a guest. All I have to say is WOW! The entire space was gutted and rebuilt by the guy who designed and built the Blind Owl, The Willistead and Snack BBQ. The Chef is previously of the Twisted Apron. and the Bar manager is the former owner of the DH. Huge round bar and separate dining room both overlooking the Detroit skyline, mid to upper priced menu with small plates.Tried some samples last night and the food was great. The bartender said its going to be a public restaurant and not a private club. Nice option to The Keg, caters to adults. Thank god not another kiddie bar downtown.
