how do you guys manage multiple services on your homelabs?
If I am trying to install owncloud, mediawiki, dokuwiki, plex, embi, piwik, NFS and say 10 other open source web apps, how would I manage the installation, maintenance and upgradation seamlessly? I can install, maintain and upgrade manually by creating a VM, loging in via SSH and then typing the commands manually for each and every service, but that just seems like too much work. Trying to setup each and every service(web app) and then maintaining it or taking backups or upgrading it manually for each and every service sounds more difficult than setting up the hardware in the first place. I looked at ansbile and their galaxy role library. I looked at flockport(looks defunct. hasn't been updated in awhile). I looked at Juju from ubuntu. I am so confused by all of this. Is there something I am overlooking or maybe a better alternative to accomplish what I'm trying to do? I just want to be able to seamlessly install, maintain and update and monitor my services.
