PCI-E with double wire on the PSU side: can I make it two singles and put one of them in the empty pin?

My PSU is a Corsair AX 860, and the PCI-E cables have the following arrangement:

...with an annoying double wire going to pins 7 and 8. Now, AFAIK those pins are both ground, and according to all the pinouts I've seen so far pins 4 and 8 PSU side are also grounds:

So, is there anything stopping me from separating the double wire and putting one on the originally empty pin hole, and leaving the other one where it is?
