How to make this? Don't know where to start?

So here is an example of a song I would love to be able to make: https://soundcloud.com/timtothewild/risk

Now obviously I won't be able to be as good as that right away, but I don't know where to even begin making something like that. First off, what is the genre of that music? It has that lovely chill, ambient mixture I like - but whats the exact name of the genre?

To make the music, I have FL studio, but I know that is best used with additional plugins. What plugins do you recommend to make that type of music? Is there any recommended tutorials to begin using FL to make that type of music? Any guidance or direction would be greatly appreciated.
