East Mesa Restaurant

I read through the places to eat and drink in the FAQ section, but didn't see anything specific to east mesa. Any good recommendations...we have kids, so family or semi formal places are best. We like all types of food, and prefer non chain places. We live south of the metro phoenix area, so we are hoping for places that might be unique to the east valley since we are not out that way often.
