New to windows. Need some help transitioning

I finally ditched my Mac and xbox and built my own PC. But now I have a few questions. What are the best programs for adblock and torrent clients? Is there any easy way for me to set up a proxy that isnt too expensive? Also whats a good way to go about finding some people to play with on PC?
