Just got alt to level 30. Are named bosses in main map supposed to still drop purples?

I saved all of the boss side missions and the rare bosses till I hit 30 hoping they would drop all high ends and wanted to have a bunch of shots at the Caduceus. First one I kill after reaching 30 dropped a purple. Is this normal?
