What was the first Anime you ever watched and why did you pick up another show after it?

My first Anime was Freezing. Yeah....

Now that I look back on it, I have no idea why I picked up Shakugan no Shana after that. I think one of my friends highly recommended it to me and after a bad time with Freezing, I guess wanted to give Anime a second chance. After 3 seasons of that, I started watching Death Note and FMA:B.

So, what Anime did you start and why did you keep going?
