Help remembering a case - 2 girls shot at roadside

I followed this for a long time hoping it would be solved, last I heard someone had been arrested. But now I've forgotten their names so can't check how it ended up.

Two young girls, approx 12 years old, were walking along a roadside near their home. Somewhere pretty quiet and remote in the U.S. Someone gunned them down, each shot several times. I think perhaps they were coming from their grandparents house.

Any ideas?!

Edit: found it. http://www.people.com/people/mobile/article/0,,20554179,00.html

Now I wish I knew what motive that piece of scum had to wipe out those 2 little girls. He so nearly got away with it too. :(
