Why do people hate Asterisk Wars? And is it popular enough for future seasons?

Personally I REALLY like the show even though yes it's a generic school battle harem. I like the flashy lightsaber swords, the OSTs, and the characters. Only minor beef I have with it is the slowness of the plot Spoiler and the idea that they allow robots to fight in a tournament meant to show the abilities of stregas/dantes (I don't know if I'm using this correctly lol)? And even with plot holes, I still enjoy the show a ton.
