1 year, less than 10 pounds difference.
I have yo-yo'ed between 280 and 210 all my adult life. At my biggest, I was playing American football and brushed off my 46 inch waist as an excuse to squat 400lbs. To get down to 210 (what I though was a respectable weight) I had to starve myself. I was unhappy, hungry, and unfit.
When I moved overseas to teach about 18 or so months ago weighing in at 240lbs, I started keto. By my May birthday, I was under 200lbs for the first time ever in my adult life. It has been a year since then and I have lost less than 10lbs. But I'm not complaining. I've taken time off for summer and Christmas, but other than that I've been keto and trained hard. I can't believe that these photos are only about 7.5 lbs different in weight after one year. I just wanted to say I see now how weight isn't really a good measurement of fitness and health. I feel like body fat and muscle mass are way more important to me now than just how heavy I am.
I started at a new gym last week and after hooking up a few electrodes to my arm, they told me I was 20.3% body fat. I thought I was under that and I don't trust that machine, but from now on the only measurements I care about are how much I can lift and what my body fat percentage is. I see now that weight is useless in a lot of ways and I'm not letting it rule my life anymore.
