Is the honeymoon over for Ricciardo?

Cue 2014, Ricciardo was the only non merc driver who won races. People and media called him future world champion material. Overall likeable guy and so on.

Im not saying anything, but now, Verstappen comes in first race and wins it, Ricciardo comes 4th again. Yes there were circumstances but we also know Verstappen is considered one of the biggest talents. The point gap between the two is only 10 points and that with Verstappen only driving his first race for the RB.

So my question is this, if Verstappen beats Ricciardo in the drivers championship standing come the end of season, and Sainz continues finishing on points with Toro Rosso, can we see RB moving for Sainz?

I know Ricciardo is a very likeable guy and many pundits say his like the perfect media face for a team but this is RB.

I would be worried if i was in Ricciardo shoes. Are we talking about WDC potential driver anymore. And you know how fast things can go in the sport. Ricciardo will turn 27 in the summer. Vettel left RB when he was 27. In similar circumstances where then the younger guy had a better season head to head.
