I consider myself fairly jaded to the spookiness of this game, but I just almost shit my pants

Started a normal playthrough, finally got my Cyclops all souped up with lockers, fabricators, growbeds etc. Next step is for my to go to the Aurora for some free stuff, so I head over there. I'm very cautious looking for the reaper, not because I'm scared, but because I don't want it to instakill me while I'm looting. I spot it and watch it with my cyclops cameras, and see it swim off to the opposite direction from me, or so I thought.

Now, I don't know if you guys are aware, but the reaper at the Aurora seems to be pretty keen at clipping in and out of the map, and it's basically always been that way. I go on, merrily looting and looking for the breach in the base of the hull to enter the ship, as it appears the devs decided just walking onto the ship from the front was no longer bueno. Just riding along looting, and the fucking reaper LAUNCHES OUT OF THE FUCKING SEAFLOOR AND LUNGES AT ME. Jesus Christ, that jumpscare along with his sudden Godzilla roar made the experience actually shake me for a second.

TL;DR: Buggy-sama reaper scared the shit out of me
