I'm considering learning programming - how do I know if I would like it or be good at it?

I recently graduated with a biology major with the intention of going into health care. I'm not sure what I want to do now though. I'm considering just learning programming and building a career on that... is this just a naive idea?

How did you know you wanted to learn programming? How did you know what would like it?
