Single, Childfree transplant guy in the Bible Belt.

So, I've posted here previously about my violent upbringing and my decision to be childfree. And I'm scheduled to be fixed, and rather excited about that. :)

But, I feel like I'm childfree in one the most childfree-unfriendly spots in the country.

I'm from the Midwest, and now work for at a Christian college in small-town Texas.

I love my job, and, indeed, the school I work for, but I feel I need to be very discreet about this, because it could cause my problems at work and in the community.

Part of my job requires that I be active in a religious congregation of my choice, and I was raised Catholic. So I am involved in my parish, which causes obvious conflicting feelings. But I just wouldn't feel comfortable anywhere else.

I know there are active childfree groups in DFW, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, but all of these places are at least a 2 hour drive away.

Anyone else in a similar situation? How do you make it work?

PS, I'd rather not give out further details of my specific city, place of work, or position outside of a private message. It's a fairly niche specialty, and I fear I would 'out' myself by doing so.
