What if Overwatch used the Heroes of the storm lore instead?

I was pondering over the fact that Overwatch could have been using the warcraft/diablo/starcraft lore and characters instead if blizzard had choosen to do it the other way around. For example, Rexxar could have been Hanzo and Tirion Fordring could have been Reinheart etc.

I for one am a sucker for futuristic worlds of the Overwatch kind, with Big Hero 6 and that movie with George Clooney as a robot pedophile as similar examples. However I can still see the charm in running around as Illidan (Genji) and hearing the famous quotes from warcraft and the other various successfull franchises.

So how do you guys think Overwatch would have turned out if it used Blizzards previous franchises instead of the current Overwatch world and lore?

I'd like to add for those of you who do not know what heroes of the storm is, it's basically Blizzard using characters from all their previous franchises.
