A little thing I noticed about people riding SLCs.
So I was at Blackpool Pleasure Beach last summer and there was a surprising amount of American tourists mixed in with the usual locals that day. I can only assume there was a coaster meetup or some shit like that.
So I see a bunch of these enthusiasts ride InFusion and when I see them coming off the ride they are literally putting their hands over their shoulders in pain while cracking some Vekoma jokes, so I say to myself "It can't be that bad" and I make the awesomely insane decision of losing my SLC virginity.
I head over to the station and sit in the front, the rest of the train is filled with Brits. I guess the Americans have had enough. We start going up the lift hill and I immediately regret getting on the ride.
I actually thought it was really good! So good that I went on it 5 more times. Not to mention the people who on the ride with me enjoyed it, I heard tons of "FUCK YEAHS" and "AWESOME" while I was riding it over and over.
When I was heading off to the Big One those tourists were literally giving me the "HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE" look. So what did I learn? Americans are pussies, no Briton fears the Vekoma.
