Is the Lexus LS400 a good choice for a first car?

I've saved up a bit of money and I'm looking for a high school car. I wanted something which has plenty of room for me and my friends as well as comfortable and reliable, and the LS400 seemed perfect as it isn't too expensive. I know that they have a great reputation for reliability as well.

The main issue for me is maintenance and repair costs. I want to take care of this car myself and not ask my parents for money to maintain it. With this in mind, how expensive are LS400s to repair and maintain compared to your average civic or corolla? Any thoughts on its suitability as a first car?

Thanks guys.
