Dating and showing affection

Ive been dating a new guy for a month or so. we had sex a few times but Ive also been to his house and we've just cuddled or fell asleep without kissing or anything. He says its easier for him to fall asleep when he's next to me but sometimes I think he just wants me to be there and maybe he's not sexually interested. Im used to getting more affection from the men Im dating. Do I tell him I need more affection? Or Is it a sign he's not sure about being physically and emotionally close?
