Do news feed algorithms attempt matchmaking?

Over the last couple of months I've noticed a particular girl's posts showing up very frequently in my feed. We are only acquaintances and have never interacted on facebook in the form of likes, comments, or messages. I happen to know that we're the same age (same high school and graduating class) and are both single. I'm not interested in her, but it got me wondering why facebook shows me so many of her posts. The only thing I can think of is it must be attempting some form of matchmaking in its algorithms. Has anyone else experienced this, or have info about whether this is factored in to the algorithm?
