Need adivce. Editing my first film.

Long story shorty. I secured funding for my short film and had an editor but I wasn't happy with the way the movie was shaping up and decidded to edit it on my own. I'm starting from scratch. I've been editing advertisements for 3 years now, but have never done a full narrative. Just looking for advice, tips, or resourses that will be benificial. Im editing on vegas. Its all I know, so Im gonna stick with it and I know it can get the job done. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
